Photo Quality
|
|
In order to keep file sizes as small as possible as download times as fast as possible, all images on this site are optimised for web use. Above all this means that the sharpness and colour of the images can sometimes appear less than ideal. All the final photographs that we send to customers are printed on true photographic paper including those taken using digital cameras. It is processed through a wet chemistry process by professional laboratories. The end result are real photos and as they are printed on true photographic paper they last exactly the same as photos. We do not use any dye-sublimation or ink-jet methods of output for our final prints (although we do use these for proofs as they are quick and inexpensive when compared to true photographic paper). Do be aware that the dye-sub and ink-jet prints are not true photo quality and do not last long term (they can now give impressive results but look at the fine print regarding UV protection, special glass and artificial light requirements). Over all at present true photographic paper is the ultimate in quality. Photographs won't run if they get wet, and they have the best light fastness. As we are not a photo lab or a camera store we have no particular allegence
to one type of processing or are forced to use older equipment. Depending
on the requirements of the work we use a number of different professional
laboratories who use paper & chemistry from well known manufacturers
including Kodak, Fuji and Agfa and print photographs using the latest
digital file to photographic paper printers. |
